okay yeah that's almost nothing and kind of terrible so I'm just gonna provide some better info in addition HOPE THAT'S COOL
First off, it's important to note Invader Zim is a canon that... wasn't finished. The series was cancelled halfway through the production of season 2, leaving a number of episodes written and in some cases even recorded, but not animated or aired. The completed scripts for a number of these episodes were released though, so they're fully canon material since they would have been actual episodes had the show continued. A lot of this background information here comes from those scripts, since more about the Vortians and Lard Nar's own history were revealed in them.
Anywho, it all began with two alien species, the Vortians from planet Vort and the Irkens from planet Irk. While the Irkens were a military empire, the Vortians were highly innovative scientists, particularly known for the invention of The Universe's Most Comfortable Couch (no, really). For a long time the races held an alliance, making the Vortians responsible for most of Irk's technological resources, supplying advanced military gear as allies of the Irken Empire.
During the alliance, Lard Nar, a Vortian himself, worked as a scientist at Vort Research Station 9 designing The Massive, what would become the powerful command ship for the leaders of the Irken Empire, the Almighty Tallest (yes, the Irken hierarchy is rather literal).
Unfortunately, the alliance was eventually broken, possibly due to an incident that occurred at Research Station 9 which resulted in the deaths of not one, but two Almighty Tallest. You get one guess who was the cause. Hint: His name rhymes with Schmim.
Vort was then conquered during Operation Impending Doom II, the Irken military's second attempt to take over as many planets as possible by sending specialized soldiers, known as Invaders, to conquer each world. Since its assimilation, Vort has been converted into Irk's top military research prison, with majority of the Vortian people now enslaved and forced to work for the empire.
Lard Nar was one of these prisoners, until he and many others held captive discovered they could escape by hiding in garbage cans, which somehow masked their bio-signatures from the security systems. Once free, he took on a new objective; forming a resistance against the Irken Empire.
Technically, he succeeded, assembling a ragtag group made up of numerous races and acquiring a Vortian ship, one of the few left not destroyed by the Irkens. Less of an accomplishment was their first true act of resistance, which involved trying to steal food from The Massive. It was a terrible idea.
They declared a name for their resistance as well, calling themselves The Resisty. Seriously. It was also a terrible idea.
Despite the plan failing phenomenally, only managing to graffiti The Massive's hull with their ship's lasers that weren't strong enough to do much else, Lard Nar and the rest of The Resisty managed to escape with the only causality being their ship, which they were forced to self-destruct. With Lard Nar declaring that the Irken scum had not seen the last of The Resisty (and yes, that's STILL their name), they fled in escape pods.
While Lard Nar and The Resisty would have played another major role in the second season's two-part finale, since the scripts for those episodes were never completed or released and little is known about the plot, it's unknown what that role would have been specifically. It's rumored they would have become aligned with a species called the Meekrob and Dib, Zim's human arch-nemesis from Earth, but this is unconfirmed and without a solid source.
Personality: Lard Nar fancies himself a leader, but whether or not he's actually a good one often seems somewhat questionable. On the one hand, as a former scientist and engineer, he's quite brilliant and technologically skilled. It also helps that he's surprisingly very competent, and able to recover from panic quickly, think clearly and be commanding even in extremely tight spots. Despite his size or appearance he can apparently have a strong, confident presence as well. He's incredibly persistent, and will always roll with whatever punches are thrown at him. No matter the problem, he never fails to have a back-up plan.
On the other, there's the fact Lard Nar is ridiculously over-dramatic; "subtlety" is a concept that is entirely lost on him. He also listens to bad ideas constantly, having the tendency to rush head-first into dangerous situations at the mere suggestion and without much thought. Considering he didn't think to even give his resistance a name until they were up against their enemy's leaders, his enthusiasm probably leads him to glance over important things. It seems he often has more ambition that what he can realistically handle, and is highly forward, reactionary and emotional. At least he's good at pulling himself together, seeing as he can freak out one moment and go back to being undaunted the next.
Still, he looks out for and values the lives of his allies before the success of any mission. His sense of justice is absolutely unwavering, and he'll go to whatever drastic measures it takes to survive. No matter how unlikely, his top priority is making sure others make it out alive, even at serious personal loss. The best thing a leader can do is put those he leads before himself, which he does without question, so maybe he's not so bad at it after all. Or at least he's getting better.
Abilities, Strengths and Weaknesses:
ABILITIES: Being from a technologically advanced alien society and previously having been a scientist and engineer, Lard Nar is highly adept with technology far more advanced than anything on Earth. Fixing or building machines, electronic devices, vehicles, etc should be no trouble for him, at worst he might be slightly baffled at how simplistic your machinery is. The guy did help to design and build a ship that's supposedly as big as a planet and nigh-invincible, so tech-wise, he knows his stuff.
Also as a rebel and an escaped prisoner he's what you might call a "crazy survivalist" - he's prepared at all times to do whatever it takes to stay alive, and can and will make due with almost nothing, because if there's one thing he can do? It's improvise. Improvise, improvise, improvise.
STRENGTHS: You know how some people always have a Plan B? Lard Nar is the type to always have at least a Plan Q. Not strong enough to actually fight your enemy's leaders? Steal their food instead! Can't penetrate the hull of their ship because the lasers aren't strong enough? Use it to write some graffiti then! Ship being forcibly pulled towards a nearby planet and going to crash? Forget the ship, we'll escape before it self-destructs! Yes, the name "Resisty" is stupid. WE'RE GONNA WEAR IT WITH PRIDE ANYWAY.
Lard Nar is determined as all get out and spectacular at thinking on his feet. Even if it looks like he's panicking and screaming, give him a moment. Soon enough he'll be fine and know exactly what to do. Strong, brave, and with an iron will, even in the face of certain death he won't stay down.
WEAKNESSES: Have I mentioned he's always listening to REALLY BAD IDEAS? Like, seriously awful, horrible ideas. Yeah, let's blindly go up against the leaders of one of the most dangerous races in the universe and their absurdly powerful mothership! ... WHY ARE WE DOING THIS AGAIN??
Because Lard Nar will jump at the chance to do anything heroic, ESPECIALLY if it's in retaliation against the Irken Empire or Irkens in general, even if he's completely out of his league. He thinks with his heart WAY before he starts thinking with his head, and isn't as much for strategy either as much as making everything up as he goes along. Not to mention he's a massive drama queen and doesn't know the meaning of the word "inconspicuous." Basically, LEEEEEEEROOOOOOY JEEEEEEEEENKINS.

(so this is kind of in the setting or something similar I guess HERE GOES)
Another day, another search for provisions. Apparently no matter where Lard Nar was lately that happened to be the case. Not that the Vortian wasn't used to it by now, still, this wasn't to say there weren't any surprises.
Today it was in what appeared to be an abandoned restaurant, if the layout vaguely reminding him of the fast food and take-out joints on Foodcourtia is any indication. As he looks around further, around and under the desecrated booths, tables, chairs and counter ahead, they definitely seem to indicate a cheap eatery despite its desolate state. Although most customers probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
Of course Lard Nar didn't expect to find anything of use out in the dining area. Any food or other resources that might have been left behind were most likely in the back, in the kitchen, freezer or other storage, but he's learned to inspect every nook and cranny anyway just in case.
While searching around the counter, on top of it he spots what looks to be a paper pamphlet of some kind. He takes it, blowing off the dust and examining what's printed on it. The words "Asian Palace" are written at the top.
"This place is certainly no palace even if it wasn't in ruins," he says with a slight scoff, aloud though there's no one else around, a habit he fails to realize even is one. "Looks like a menu."
Out of more curiosity than anything he continues reading it, going down the list of dishes. Glancing over a certain item he double takes, suddenly narrowing his eyes at the words on the paper to make sure he's reading them right.
"Lard Nar - stir-fried rice noodles with gravy, soy sauce, broccoli and choice of chicken, beef, or tofu."
"Is this some kind of joke?!"
